  • We're looking for a Head of Commercial Finance (Retail, Food Service, Global Ingredients) to join our team to provide financial insight and thought partnership across the retail, food service and global ingredients businesses. The Head of Commercial Finance is an important position within the finance team and is one of the pipeline roles for CFO succession.   The successful candidate is a finance leader who embraces a culture of meaningful participation where consumers, customers and employees are advocates of our company.  The successful candidate will:  think like the customer and consumer, act like owners, execute with urgency, operate as one team, and believe constructive conflict makes us better.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, Chief Sales Officer and Head of Global Ingredients and their teams to provide financial leadership and proactive financial guidance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate forecasting, adherence to financial reporting requirements, and successful execution of business segment financial objectives.
  • Direct the development, measurement and communication of monthly KPI metrics to help track performance, outline gap areas and determine potential solutions for bridging the gap.
  • Provide financial visibility across the business & drive improvement with solid analytical skills and strategic analysis.
  • Actively participate in business segment operating reviews, critical business initiatives, and stage gate process presenting insightful analysis and business commentary to a variety of audiences.
    • Partner with the Commercial teams to drive operating performance, forecast rigor, and the resolution of operational or market related challenges
    • Champion the development of the business segment annual operating plan and actively participate in the development and execution of the 3-year business plan priorities by analyzing risks and opportunities, challenging assumptions, and offering pro-active solutions as appropriate.
    • Pro-actively identify issues and solutions and be able to implement resolutions utilizing strong leadership and influencing skills.
    • Possess a demonstrated track record of team development and talent development
  • Provide business with financial insight and thought partnership inclusive of :
    • Trade and brand spending
    • New product, channel, and market development
    • Customer and product line profitability
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Supply Chain, Controller, and Audit groups to meet reporting, system and governance requirements and achieve business and functional objectives.

Who You Are:

  • Exceptional leader of people.
  • Solid and diverse consumer products finance background.
  • Proven ability to get the job done with a demonstrated track record of solid execution.
  • The ability to be hands-on and detail oriented yet also provide a strategic perspective to bear on the issues of company operations and finance.
  • Ability to simplify the complex
  • Ability to pro-actively identify issues and solutions and implement resolutions utilizing strong leadership and persuasion skills.
  • Know how to lead a team through objective setting, coach them to deliver on key milestones, and adjust plans as necessary while keeping an eye on the ultimate business goals.

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum of 10-12 years of financial business partner experience (CPG preferred)
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of managerial and leadership experience
  • B.S. degree in Finance or related field required (MBA Preferred)
