We're looking for a Director of Food Service to join our team.  This person leads the sales team in execution of initiatives across food service customers and channels to achieve profitable revenue growth.  He/she builds positive customer relationships aligning Welch's strategies with our customer's strategies.  This role recruits, develops, retains and promotes top talent in order to achieve company objectives.  These objectives include driving effective planning, optimizing distribution and trade spending, forecasting, gaining cross-functional alignment, effective communication, customer insights and reporting that will drive profitable revenue growth for Welch's and our customers.

He/she will report to the Head of Sales and sit on the sales leadership team to drive alignment and strategies across all of sales.  The Director of Food Service will also promote a positive culture that aligns with the company culture.  These values of putting the customer and consumer first, competing to win, acting like owners, executing with urgency, teamwork and constructive conflict will help achieve Welch's as a best in class organization in the CPG industry.

 He/she will:

  • Lead the Food Service sales team to deliver profitable revenue growth. Beverage knowledge strongly preferred, but not required
  • Recruit, develop, retain and promote top talent in support of achieving company objectives and culture
  • Develop strong customer relationships at senior levels and with key decision makers in order to better partner with our customers
  • Lead Top to Top and Joint Business Planning meetings with strategic customers to establish and execute joint business objectives
  • Effective and timely communication
  • Develop customer strategies and execution plans
  • Lead team with customer planning, maximize distribution, optimize and manage trade budgets and forecast product needs
  • Effectively lead broker(s) execution in support of customers and channels of business
  • Identifies market dynamics, pricing trends and customer opportunities turning them into actionable plans to deliver growth.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience with the Food Service channel
  • Understanding of how to leverage Food Service contracts to enhance Welch's position with customers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of trade investment performance dynamics.
  • Ability to objectively balance cross-functional requirements / demands and to be effective in an ever-changing marketplace.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of related Food Service experience
  • Travel required (est. 50%).
  • Four-year undergraduate degree in business, marketing or related field.
