By effectively scheduling employees, the Scheduling Coordinator helps ensure that Welch's production objectives are achieved and that all deadlines are met. The Scheduling Coordinator must be able to multitask and provide quick responses to production problems. As issues may be unforeseen, this individual must know how to shift resources and priorities effectively.

What you'll do:

  • Organize, plan and manage schedules for the Production, Processing, Maintenance and Receiving departments in accordance with the guidelines set by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Use workers and resources in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Provide quick responses to production issues.
  • Identify problems and help improve processes.
  • Use software to generate reports and schedules.
  • Help ensure that company deadlines are met.
  • Work with managers and supervisors to obtain timely feedback on production status. Analyze and measure the current production status and identify problem areas that inhibit full schedule execution. Provide feedback to production leads on output/schedule achieved versus plan.
  • Communicate production plans to all levels of the organization.
  • Make recommendations to the Production/Processing managers regarding the need to shift personnel and overtime requirements.
  • Develop back up plans/modify schedules to accommodate unexpected customer demands or production issues, including call-offs and unexpected absences. Document call-offs in a timely manner.
  • Process requests for leave and/or vacation in a timely manner, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement guidelines
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements and Skills:

  • Associate's degree in Business Management or related fields
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Must maintain confidentiality and use appropriate discretion when working with internal and external business partners
