We are looking for a Senior Director of IT Strategy, Planning & Architecture to join our team as a key leader in the transformation and growth of Welch's business.

This is a very exciting time to join Welch's and be part of our Information Technology Leadership Team reporting to the Chief Information Officer. You will gain significant exposure, building strong relationships across all levels of our company in a very influential role leading the creation of our digital blueprint, technical roadmap and delivery of our transformational growth agenda.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

This position is a key member of the IT Leadership Team that provides strategic development, technical design and transformational delivery of Welch's Digital agenda. This includes both short and long-term strategies in support of Welch's strategic growth technical business enablement and IT organizational capability upgrade agendas. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Work with IT and Business Leadership to set direction and goals for IT strategy, portfolio planning and technical architecture
  • Create an integrated IT Strategic Plan that includes our business enablement and IT organizational capability roadmap in collaboration with IT and Senior Business/Functional leadership
  • Oversee all aspects of Enterprise architecture development including facilitating discussions to enable formed decisions and standards that optimize the architecture in the context of future state business needs
  • Develop PMO capabilities and delivery of the portfolio to ensure the delivery of business value aligned with the strategy, plan and architecture.
  • Establish and facilitate IT Steering governance structure as required to prioritize and manage the overall portfolio and priorities
  • Develop and continually improve processes, tools and standards for IT strategic planning, governance, portfolio management, financial results and architecture development
  • Assist in the planning, recruitment and allocation of resources (internally and externally) to meet the demand of Welch's and IT needs
  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive sourcing strategy, including opportunities for process and cost efficiencies, while mitigating risk
  • Participate in existing and all planning processes to assure timely acquisition of services to support business needs
  • Recommends and establishes IT procurement strategy, processes, and procedures that are consistent with corporate policy, IT project requirements and sound commercial, legal and ethical practices.
  • Responsible for the systematic execution of processes and procedures, for the timely and cost effective purchasing of IT products and services
  • Help manage full cycle activities of IT procurement, including the analysis, negotiation and execution of bids and contracts from vendors.
  • In conjunction with IT organization co-create legacy debt reduction roadmap and manage the simplification and optimization opportunities
  • Provide advanced expertise in multiple technologies, including emerging technologies.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Proven ability to deliver leading edge technology in CPG/Manufacturing
  • Proven experience in IT application, data, mobility and infrastructure planning and development
  • Strong experience in ERP, Microsoft and Manufacturing/Plant Floor solutions
  • Experienced implementing cloud based solutions
  • Experienced implementing Master Data Management enterprise solutions
  • Knowledge of standards and methodology of Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Excellent leadership skills with strong business acumen
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels and functions of organizations on both an individual and team basis
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure
  • Makes decisions that positively impact the current and future state of the business

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology Management, Engineering or other related fields
  • Minimum 15 years IT experience with 2+ years at a senior level within a $1.0-$4.0B company within a strong manufacturing environment demonstrating proven project and process management skill sets
  • 7+ years' experience working within the Planning, Product & Architecture and delivery disciplines
  • CPG/Manufacturing and/or relevant Management Consultancy experience highly desirable to guide the right portfolio choices across commercial and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in development and implementation of digital programs providing capabilities across consumer, operations, product and analytics verticals
  • Experience in M&A and integration work
  • Experience in full life cycle ERP implementation (product selection, contract negotiation, SI selection, implementation, change management, end user training and ongoing managed services)
  • Experience creating and managing an Application Inventory and aligning annual business planning and new portfolio management processes to ensure industry data standards, lifecycle mgmt. of infrastructure, integrations, application, and retirement strategies incorporated into multi-year plans.
