We are looking for a Senior Director of IT Infrastructure & Operational Services to join our team as a key leader in the transformation and growth of Welch's business.

This is a very exciting time to join Welch's and be part of our Information Technology Leadership Team reporting to the Chief Information Officer. You will gain significant exposure, building strong relationships across all levels of our company in a very influential role as part of the IT Leadership and Welch's Extended Leadership Teams responsible for the creation of our digital blueprint, technical roadmap and delivery of our transformational growth agenda.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

This position is a key member of the IT Leadership Team that provides strategic development, technical design and transformational delivery of Welch's Digital agenda as it relates to technical infrastructure, risk management, service and operations management. This includes both short and long-term strategies in support of Welch's strategic growth technical business enablement and IT organizational capability upgrade agendas. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • IT Operations
  • Data storage, Technical platform and End User collaboration technology design and delivery
  • IT Service Management
  • Risk Management (Cybersecurity, Resiliency & Compliance)
  • Accountable for a high-performing computing infrastructure companywide including but not limited to, planning and management of computer operations and production support, systems and database administration, release management, business continuity, network operations, telecom, cloud services, service desk, and field support.
  • Collaborate within the IT organization to develop strategic and tactical solution plans for IT, especially Welch's future technology infrastructure.
  • Conduct strategic/tactical level planning to develop the technical roadmap and ensure delivery of technology solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ensure cost-effective design, development, integration, implementation, testing, and maintenance of new services, equipment and systems in support of business objectives and requirements.
  • Develop and lead a high performing infrastructure engineering and operations team (internal and external) to ensure the reliable delivery of IT services and operations.
  • Drive a collaborative culture that values technical depth, accountability, and customer service.
  • Establish, maintain and execute operations procedures that leverage efficiencies and best practices.
  • Oversee service management activities including incident, problem, change and release management, testing, quality assurance and end-to-end technical integration.
  • Oversee the direction of infrastructure investments.
  • Oversee cybersecurity protections on all IT infrastructure resources according to policies and established standards.
  • Drive the delivery of major technology and infrastructure projects and service management improvements, ensuring that quality, productivity, and ROI goals are achieved.
  • Implement and maintain controls and monitoring procedures to ensure availability of critical systems, and minimal service interruptions.
  • Develop and implement a strategic, long-term information security strategy and roadmap to ensure that Welch's information assets are adequately protected.
  • Work with senior leaders across the business to assess and communicate acceptable levels of risk.
  • Lead the development of up-to-date information security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines, and oversee their approval, dissemination, and maintenance.
  • Act as the champion for the information security program and foster a security-aware culture.
  • Oversee the evaluation, selection and implementation of information security solutions that are innovative, cost-effective, and minimally disruptive.
  • Collaborate with the IT organization to ensure that technologies are developed and maintained according to security policies and guidelines.
  • Manage regular intrusion detection and vulnerability reporting, internal and external IT audit groups reviews, and the coordination of all required fixes.
  • Develop business metrics to measure the effectiveness of the security management program, and increase the maturity of the program over time.
  • Monitor the industry and external environment for emerging threats and advise relevant stakeholders on appropriate courses of action.
  • Oversee incident response planning and the investigation of security breaches, and assist with any associated disciplinary, public relations and legal matters.
  • Oversee and lead the creation, communication and implementation of a process for managing vendor risk and other third party risk.
  • Lead due diligence and post integration activities related to information security for all M&A activity.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Proven experience with complex legacy infrastructure/application environments within the manufacturing industry.
  • Experienced with M&A and/or divestitures
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 environment across multiple time zones
  • IT management experience demonstrating a proven project and process management skill set
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills with excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability and desire to engage with all functions/business across the Enterprise to understand and articulate the business requirements as well as the capabilities and requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of major aspects of IT including information security, risk management, compliance, project management, systems analysis, design and development, budget administration; with broad exposure and practical experience in IT management
  • Ability to influence and lead change across the enterprise at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to deliver despite obstacles
  • Experience in audit and assessment analysis, developing Board level KPI's/metrics and presentations
  • General knowledge of all IT disciplines and technology platforms.
  • Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of key standardize IT processes and methodologies (i.e. ITIL, PMI and SDLC).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technologies and the ability to apply those technologies to business needs.
  • Deep knowledge of DevOps, System Architecture, Technology life cycle management, cloud computing and cloud operations, IaaS, CaaS, Disaster Recovery, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 15+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 3 years each in a senior information security and IT operations leadership role within a $1.0B - $4.0B Global Business
  • IT management experience in a strong manufacturing environment demonstrating a proven project and process management skill set.
  • Experience migrating IT infrastructure into a cloud environment
  • Strong background in Information Security principles and operations
