POSITION SUMMARY
We're looking for an experienced and dynamic Sr. Engineer to join our Packaging R&D team to:
- Lead and execute structural packaging materials projects, including productivity and line extensions & renovation across all juice, beverages and fruit spreads product platforms
- Advance Packaging programs to meet our corporate Sustainability goals

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Leveraging internal resources, external partners and suppliers, lead and execute assigned Packaging projects from exploration through proof of concept, design, prototyping, testing & validation, commercialization and launch
- Ensure the appropriate level of planning and technical rigor is applied based on project complexity and risk, including timeline development, design requirements definition, testing & qualification plans and specifications development
- Through collaboration with Supply Chain, Finance and other cross-functional partners, develop a multi-year productivity pipeline and drive cost savings by identifying and executing significant opportunities across factories and product platforms
- Lead the development and commercialization of Packaging line extension and renovation projects to support our growth objectives and priorities
- Support Manufacturing and Quality by providing technical expertise and leadership to troubleshoot packaging related issues
- Support Strategic Sourcing by serving as the technical lead to select and qualify alternative materials and suppliers
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Packaging R&D work processes and capabilities through the development, upgrade and maintenance of SOPs, lab & pilot plant capabilities, and specifications
- Represent R&D Packaging in the Sustainability team; generate, lead and execute corresponding Packaging programs to progress against our Corporate Sustainability goals
- Conduct ideation, external scouting and evaluation of new technologies and innovative solutions, to address productivity and sustainability priorities

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 7 years proven Packaging R&D track record with successful launches in market for Food & Beverage or CPG products
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics, Packaging Engineering or related fields. MS preferred
- Experience with PET bottle technologies. PET for beverage applications and hot fill experience preferred
- Broad knowledge on other packaging materials and formats including but not limited to other rigid plastics, glass, metal, paperboard and corrugated
- Management of external resources like suppliers and testing labs
- Technical leadership of projects commercialization, scale up and launch
- Demonstrated project management skills
- General knowledge of filling and packaging equipment. Experience in equipment for beverage products preferred
- Familiarity with pallet design software (CAPE, TOPS)
- Understanding of basic applied statistics (e.g. normal distributions, process capability)
- Availability to travel as needed (estimated travel average of around 25%)
