We're looking for an Associate Director, Logistics & Customer Operations to join our Supply Chain organization to lead a team involved in three strategic functions; corporate logistics (distribution, transportation, and warehousing), customer operations (customer service), and customer logistics (customer-specific demand fulfillment services and continuous improvement and replenishment programs).  

What You'll Do:

  • Provide strategic leadership to customer operations and customer logistics, working collaboratively with customers, sales agents, field sales, marketing and finance to optimal customer engagement and experience while driving efficiencies and operating results.
  • Working with internal and external business partners, develop and implement long-term strategic transportation and warehousing strategies to maximize profitability, cash flow and customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver incremental customer and organizational profitability by leading the development and execution of customer specific supply chain initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of current logistics trends, providing strategic thinking, planning, and direction of the distribution center network to stay ahead of the company's business needs.
  • In concert with the Indirect Procurement team, lead the procurement process and management for all transportation, distribution, and warehouse services including all outbound, inbound and interplant freight, rail fleet operations, and third party logistics providers, delivering the targeted cost/quality/service improvements.  

Who You Are:

  • Considerable knowledge in transportation, warehousing, inventory management and customer service/operations. 
  • Must be an inspirational leader and developer of others with excellent strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Requires excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and the ability to work collaboratively and deliver results within the Customer Operations and cross-functional teams.
  • Should possess strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with a strong competency in financial management.
  • Must be high-energy, persistent, agile, and able to successfully sell new ideas and improvements across the organization and to senior executives.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing external partnerships and outsourced/hybrid models.
  • Leadership and operations experience in the food industry
  • Familiarity with DOT Regulations.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Experience in a "Lean/Continuous Improvement" environment is a plus. 

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field required. MBA preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Customer Operations and Logistics
  • Ideally would have at least 2 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods marketplace.
  • Travel requirements are 20% - 25%
