 We're looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Grandview team.  At Welch's, we strive for excellence in food safety and quality.  Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the QA Technician will be responsible for ensuring product quality is monitored and tested in compliance with established procedures, specification and instructions.

What You'll Do:

  •  Ensures that necessary raw and finished samples are collected, analyzed, and the results are accurately recorded.
  • Provides prompt and timely feedback to appropriate personnel relative to production related problems (i.e. excessive defects, mislabeling, package quality issues, etc).
  • Provides technical assistance to supervisor of all departments with any problems concerning product Assists supervisors in developing sound methods of control.
  • Assists with regulatory compliance including HACCP documentation, 3rd party and internal audits and with Food Safety, Food Quality and SQF.
  • Maintains laboratory supply levels and reports supply needs to the QA Supervisor to maintain an adequate level.
  • Makes recommendations for new quality control policies and procedures, installs or implements such procedures as directed by the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
  • Maintains a safe, clean working and orderly environment.

  • A proactive person who takes steps to improve plant performance, GMPs, safety and employee relations to ensure a healthy work environment.
  • Someone with a 'making it happen' attitude including; acting with urgency, embracing ambiguity, and daring to try.
  • A team player who has the interpersonal skills to manage relationships within the plant, and provide feedback to team members in a respectful manner.
  • Willing to work various shifts in a 24x7 operation, 12 hours during seasonal operations.

What You'll Need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree (Food, Biological or Chemical Science) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • One to three years of experience as a Quality Control Technician in a fruit processing manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of food safety principals, HACCP, pest control, GMP's, Organic, Kosher, and allergen management principals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
