Position Overview

We're looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our team to provide leadership for the Maintenance department.  The successful candidate provides leadership, planning and resources to create a high performance work environment in Maintenance.  This position is also responsible for achieving goals and objectives associated with Maintenance while working in a collaborative manner with other Departments to achieve key plant objectives.


What You'll Do:

  • Utilizes leadership skills in setting the vision and strategic direction for the Maintenance Department.
  • Manages a sound preventative & predictive maintenance program for general plant and utility equipment. Plans and manages adequate spare parts inventory.
  • Directs, trains, and supervises maintenance mechanics through the Maintenance Supervisors. This includes personnel responsible for the operation and maintenance of the power, waste treatment, stockroom and refrigeration facilities.
  • Collaborates with Packaging Business Units to ensure Maintenance planners and Reliability Engineers execute work planning, job estimates, work scheduling and other administrative functions as directed.
  • Evaluates the operation of plant equipment and makes recommendations for changes to improve equipment operating performance, and directs completion of work. Coordinates efforts with other department managers.
  • Teams with other functional areas within the plant in order to achieve Maintenance and plant goals.
  • Manages, develops and assesses Maintenance System Advisors' skills in achieving performance goals in Safety, Quality, Cost, Continuous Improvement, Customer Service
  • Drives Continuous Improvement culture through the application of Lean Manufacturing techniques. Develops and manages systems that control tactical Maintenance actions.
  • Works in coordination with Engineering to ensure optimal schedules are developed and attained.
  • Interacts with external resources such as Welch Corporate, Suppliers and Equipment Vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Technical skills and knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability operations, materials and equipment.
  • Ability to plan and create a high performance environment.
  • Knowledge and demonstrate use of Lean Manufacturing skills.
  • Able to work any shift required.


What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred. A Bachelor degree from other disciplines in a related field considered.
  • Minimum of three to five years' experience Managing in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Solid record of safety and continuous improvement in an industrial setting.
